Pax et bonum!
Welcome to the website for the novitiate of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual.
The novitiate of St. Francis was the moment in time during which he fell in love with Jesus Christ and consequently embarked on a life-long journey of love and service following in the footsteps of his loving Lord.
Through the ages countless men from every corner of our wonderful world have desired to love and serve Christ as the Poverello of Assisi by becoming members of the Brotherhood he founded. They too took a first step in following Christ, beginning their own journey in "the year of probation" - their novitiate.
" Most high, glorious God, enlighten the darkness of my heart. Lord, instill in me, a faith that is unerring, a hope that is certain, a love that is perfect; a sensitivity and a knowledge that I may accomplish Your holy and true command. Amen. "
Saint Francis of Assisi
"...the consecrated life is not something isolated and marginal, but a reality which affects the whole Church...the consecrated life is at the very heart of the Church as a decisive element for her mission, since it "manifests the inner nature of the Christian calling"and the striving of the whole Church as Bride towards union with her one Spouse."
Saint John Paul II - Vita Consecrata
